From Overwhelmed to Accomplished: A Journey Through the Business Administration NQF4 Learnership
Embarking on a learnership can be a daunting experience, especially when trying to juggle work, study, and life. But for one of our learners at BKB who completed her Business Administration NQF4 qualification, it was life changing—a story of resilience, teamwork, and growth.
“I didn’t think I would be able to do it..."
Those were Jolene's, Payroll Admnistrator at BKB, thoughts when she started her employed learnership. She admitted to feeling overwhelmed and the thought of returning to a classroom-like environment after many years felt intimidating.
However, everything changed on her first day. With an amazing facilitator, Karyn, her fears quickly dissapeased and the classroom became a space of understanding, encouragement, and possibility. “Karyn was incredibly accommodating and made everything seem manageable. If it weren’t for Karyn, I don’t think I would have completed the learnership,” she said.

Everyone was on the same page, and no one was left behind,” she said.

Juggling Work, Study & Life
Balancing a full-time job and a demanding qualification was no easy feat for Jolene - it was an emotional rollercoaster of doubt, pressure, and perseverance, requiring significant effort, discipline and dedication and developed her own system to stay on top of her commitments.
Even during the busiest times, such as payroll season, resilience and adaptability kept Jolene on track. Carving out time for learning, prioritising tasks, and staying committed were key to making it through.
