Qualifications Overview
The purpose of this part-qualification is to prepare learners to operate as Quality Inspectors. A Quality Inspector performs measurements using precision and other instruments/resources and compares product/services against set standards to assess any variation to ensure compliance with specifications.
They also collect information and maintain records of inspections, prepare lists of defects/deviations and interact with other departments to ensure compliance.
A qualified learner will be able to:
- Interpret customer and other specifications, national and international standards and applicable legislation.
- Inspect and verify input, resources and output for conformance against standards and specifications and report non-conformances.
- Collect, record, summarise and report quality information.
