2023 Trends: Enhancing the Employee Experience in a Hybrid World
What’s ahead for 2023? The Ken Blanchard Companies just completed its analysis of its 2023 HR / L&D Trends Survey. Over 700 leadership, learning, and talent development professionals shared their concerns, plans, and action steps on topics such as:
- The challenges they are facing heading into the new year
- Capacity and resources to meet the needs of workforce development
- Leadership Development
- Training modalities to employ in 2023
Capacity & Resources for learning
A first look into the survey data collected showed that the L&D function is faced with the challenge of asking people to engage in future-focused activities (such as skills building) when most are having a hard enough time just keeping up with present-day realities. Leaders and learners are becoming more time poor and do not have L&D as a priority.
Employee Engagement & Experience
With the recent phenomenon of quiet quitting, respondents are faced with the challenge of creating a strong cultural experience in a hynrid environment. There is a need to deepen the connection between leader and direct report; and rekindle the workforces' desire and purpose.
One way to do it? Create a culture of learning and provide a great employee experience.
Personalised Learning
While COVID-19 accelerated the shift from in-person to digital and virtual offerings through 2020 - 2022, respondents feel that one of the top challenges is creating and tailoring the right content that teaches the skills that people NEED to succeed.
