Introducing iLearn’s New Outsourced Learnership Solution

nqf level learnerships

iLearn is proud to present its new outsourced Learnership solution which enables companies to maximise points on their B-BBEE scorecards even if they are unable to host learners internally.

How does the new solution work?

In short, your company will act as the learners’ primary employer. Therefore, you will be responsible for the full employment relationship which includes payment of the monthly stipend, training, recruitment and hosting fee.

A host company will provide a workplace facility that enables learners to implement and apply the qualification learning outcomes under the guidance of experienced mentors who will support the learners throughout the 12-month-long Learnership programme.

What are the benefits?

Companies that implement the outsourced Learnership solution can expect to achieve up to 20 points in the Skills Development category of their B-BBEE scorecards. Five bonus points can be attained if learners are absorbed into full-time employment positions once the Learnership has been completed.

Host companies will be able to enjoy access to additional labour at no extra cost and can claim the equivalent spend for mentorship and training hours under their Skills Development expenditure for B-BBEE.

In addition, companies that choose to enter into Learnership programmes will assist in fast tracking the nation-wide mission to boost employment opportunities and lower unemployment rates, particularly among the youth. According to Statistics SA, the local unemployment rate is currently 27.7% which is the highest it’s been since 2003; and of every 20 unemployed South Africans, seven are below the age of 35. Stats also show that employment rates are the highest among individuals with an education level less than matric. Skills development initiatives are therefore an essential component to driving economic and youth empowerment across the country.

What support is provided by iLearn?

  • A shortlist of credible candidates (both able-bodied and disabled) sourced through our recruitment partners.
  • Product and onboarding training for new recruits at the host company.
  • Emotional and wellness support for disabled learners – i.e. two-hour sessions once a month for the first three months of the Learnership.
  • An implementation team of Project and Learner Coordinators who will ensure that the programme is managed and delivered seamlessly.
  • Regular reports and updates to keep track of learner progress and the impact of the programme.

What qualification does the outsourced Learnership programme result in?

The Contact Centre industry has been identified by the government and private sector as a catalyst to drive high-growth employment for first time job seekers. The qualification that learners in this programme will work towards obtaining is therefore as follows: National Certificate: Contact Centre and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Support NQF Level 3. This qualification will help to equip learners with the knowledge and skills they need to supply high-quality customer service in contact centers or BPO environments.
